Flashback

I saw this video last night and it totally gave me a flashback of my childhood (minus the Pokemon).



I instantly flashed back to being 6-7 years old again watching "Ducktales" and "Chip and Dales Rescue Rangers". For awhile when we first moved to the states, my family along with my cousins and her family lived together at my grandparent's house in east LA. It seems crazy now but back then it actually felt normal to have my cousins living with me. We didn't have a lot back then but our families were very close. The first time I remember actually meeting my cousin John, he was playing "Ice Hockey" on Nintendo and I was mesmerized. My grandparents took care of us really well and I have fond memories of my cousins and I playing at Granada Park in Alhambra which was literally our backyward. My brother and I would sit on a skateboard and cruise downhill on the sidewalk over and over again. I remember my first mint chocolate chip ice cream cone from Ralph's. I also remember the 7-Eleven trip's with my grandpa to buy milk. It was so simple to be a kid when the most stressful thing to experience was possibly missing your favorite Saturday morning cartoon.

A couple of weeks ago most of my family reunited again in LA for my grandpa's funeral. The last time we reunited like this was for my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary in 2002. It made me really miss having so much family around again, especially now that everyone is dispersed around the country. I hope we all keep in touch and never forget the simpler days.

We All Look Alike

Last night at a bar this random blonde girl comes up to me and says

Blonde girl: "Um this is really awkward and stuff but my friends and I think you look EXACTLY like my best friend Kelvin Lau. Tonight's my birthday and he couldn't be here so could I take a picture with you to show him?"

Me: "Oh happy bday, um that's pretty funny I guess, no I don't mind but I want to see a picture of this guy"

Blondie: "well..I..I don't have a picture of him (tries pulling up Facebook)..why..do you have to be like...Simon Cowell? OMG! You just ruined my birthday!" ::walks away whining to her friends::

Me to her friends: "uhh...(now realizing how wasted she was)..sorry I was just curious"

and then another one of her friends show up and comes up to me and says "OMG you look like a friend of ours!". At this point it was obvious they told her to come up to me and pretend all that stuff before never happened. I explained that I didn't mean to ruin this girl's bday (pretty pathetic if that was all it took) and was just curious about my aforementioned "twin". Her friend actually realized how ridiculous the bday girl was being and apologized to me. No worries.

That was one of the many weird moments last night but it provided some entertainment for my friends and I.

New Look

Hi I've decided to revisit this website and update its cheesy look to another cheesy look. I'm just goofing around with templates since I know as much html as my mom. One of these days I'll learn and maybe even update this blog with content. At least I added a picture that I actually took from Kerry Park in my neighborhood. It's currently the wallpaper on my Mac. I'll have to learn photoshop sometime too. Oh yeah and somehow finish residency. See you next time!
